Makeup Haul - Sleek, Morphe, L'Oreal, L.A Girl, Maybelline

Hi Guys

I recently over a few weeks purchased some new make up items to add to my ever growing collection, that I thought I would share with you in this post.
I went to quite a few different places including chemist warehouse, makeupnet (yes they have a shop) and target.

When chemist warehouse had their 50% off all cosmetics sale I picked up 4 items,  I got two things from L'Oreal which is quite an expensive brand here is Australia so when it's on sale, it is a brand worth looking at. I got the L'Oreal Glam Bronze Le Terra in #02 and the Lumi Magique Highlighting Concealer in 01 Fair and I also picked up two Maybelline color drama lip pencils in 420 - In with coral and 510 - red essential.

I then discovered that Makupnet actually have a shop, which of course, me and my make up loving friend had to visit. I was trying to be restrained and only bought and few things as I am trying to save for a holiday. I got 2 things from the brand Morphe as it seems to have a lot of you tube hype at the moment, I got the 35U palette (its so colourful, I already love it) and the S15 powder brush. From makeupnet I also got a L.A girl lip paint in seduce (purple berry colour) that is suppose to be a dupe for the too faced melted lipsticks, which I am excited to compare as the L.A girl ones are half the price.

I also visited Target and as some of you know Target has begun to stock the brands Sleek and TheBalm. I only got one highlighting palette from Sleek because I hear its amazing and as it all about the glow right now so I had to have it.

Lastly I made a stop in at Daiso to try and pick up the highly sort after brush cleaner, which I managed to get (they had heaps) so hopefully its as good as everyone says, I can't wait to try it out.

If you want a review on any of these products let me know in the comments below

Mecca Beauty Loop Box

Hi Guys

Just a short post today, I got an email this morning telling me the Mecca beauty loop boxes were ready to be picked up. They are available from today (20th Jan) to Feb 3rd but generally go very quickly so if you want one I would go in ASAP.

For those of you who don't know beauty loop is Mecca's rewards program, it work on how much money you spend and there are 3 levels. It is free so always worth signing up for and every quarter you get a free box with 4 beauty samples in it.

Level 2 - Beauty Loop Box

I am a level 2 member, so lets get on with what I got. First thing is a fragrance sample (which I don't love but again its free), it from a brand called Byredo (I have never heard of this brand)and the fragrance is called La Tulipe, I did spray this and I actually don't mind the scent its very subtle and kinda floral but not too floral (sorry I'm really bad at scents).

Next thing I saw was a sample of the bumble and bumble thickening shampoo and conditioner, I have had this sample before and it was a good shampoo and conditioner but nothing special for me but I already have thick hair so that doesn't help. I like taking these samples when I go away for short trips instead of taking a big bottle I just pack a few of these samples.

I also got a Kate Somerville nourish daily mask, I do love a good mask and I have very dry skin so I am excited to try this one.

Lastly I got the bareMinerals complexion rescue gel cream in vanilla, I have very fair skin so normally these samples are too dark for me but I did test this one on my skin and I think I can make it work because this not a foundation but more like a tinted moisturiser

and that's all I got in my level 2 beauty loop box, I am most excited to try the mask and tinted moisturiser but I will definitely use the perfume and shampoo and conditioner.

My Top 5 Highlighters

Hi Guys

Seeing as this years big trend is going to be glowing skin I thought I would share with you my top 5 favourite highlighters.

My top 5 highlighters
I am starting off with a cult favourite to most beauty lovers, MAC mineralise skin finish in soft and gentle. This is what started my love for highlighting, it was my first MAC product and first high end highlighter. Soft and gentle is great for a subtle highlight, it is a frosted champagne colour with some fine glitter through out, It's a colour that would suit most skin tones from very fair to dark. It wears well throughout the the day and doesn't appear to disappear.  Overall soft and gentle is a great highlighter on most people and well worth the investment for your make up collection.

MAC Soft and Gentle perfect subtle highlight
Next I have two highlighters from a brand that made it mark in world of strobing and glowing skin last year BECCA.
Becca was definitely at the forefront of the strobing movement we saw at the end of last year and it was all due to their shimmering skin perfectors. I have two of the presssed powder versions  and love that they are so soft and smooth yet pack such a punch in the glow department. The two I have are moonstone and champagne pop (a collaboration with Jaclyn Hill),  Becca have just announced that champagne pop is now part of their permanent range YAY! Both moonstone and champagne pop give you a glow from within look which is right on trend at the moment. Moonstone is a pale yellow/gold colour and champagne pop is a bright peach champagne colour. Moonstone is frosty and has no glitter but champagne pop appears to be a little bit more sparkly although you can't see the glitter. Both of these highlighters are my go to at the moment for the glowing skin trend, I love them.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors - so good!!!!
Next I have an Urban Decay naked illuminated shimmering powder in Aura. Now if you love glitter this highlight is for you, its a peachy base with fine gold glitter. I love this for when i'm going out and I really want my highlight to be seen, it is beautiful and I think would like great on pale skin to look more golden. I also love the little brush that comes with it, it allows me to place  it right on top my cheek bones and not all over my face. Also the glitter is so fine and doesn't fall all over my face but just provides a nice sparkle to whenever you place this powder.

I love the sparkle in this one
Lastly I have some that's a bit different in that it is not a powder but more of a cream and reminds me of the Becca shimmering skin perfecter in opal the liquid version but much cheaper and if you see it highly recommend investing in this product. The Lacura beauty glamour goddess in natural, I got mine from Aldi (yes the supermarket) and I think it was under $10. I mix this in with my foundation to give me a nice dewy glow. I also use it under my foundation to make my highlight pop and give you a really intense glow. You can use this just as a very natural highlight for when you want a very natural look. I love this stuff and if you ever see it in Aldi definitely go buy it and why not try some of their other cosmetics sometimes you find gold if you just look.

Best find ever!
Some swatches for your enjoyment

Special mention while this is not specifically a highlighter I think it deserves a special mention as it makes your skin so glowy. The It cosmetics CC+ illumination full coverage cream is beautiful on the skin and if you love dewy skin you need this foundation in your life. It provides great coverage, feels light weight on the skin and has the best staying power I've seen for a CC cream.

Really good for dewy skin!
